Weekend Wrap

Hello fellow bloggers! The chaotic weather in South Florida this afternoon was not kind to my internet connection and delayed today’s post so I’ll keep this one short and sweet.

Weekend Wrap

Happy Monday everyone! I’m reworking the format of some posts so that I can get things to you faster. Let me know what you think, but as for this weekend’s headlines…

-The American Film Insitute released its list for the top 10 films of 2011. The list includes:

  • Bridesmaids
  • The Help
  • J. Edgar
  • Midnight in Paris
  • War Horse
  • The Descendants
  • The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
  • Hugo
  • Moneyball
  • The Tree of Life

-The American Film Institute also released their top 10 TV shows of 2011. The list includes:

  • Breaking Bad
  • Boardwalk Empire
  • Curb Your Enthusiasm
  • Game of Thrones
  • The Good Wife
  • Homeland
  • Justified
  • Louie
  • Modern Family
  • Parks and Recreation (!!!)

– Men’s Health named Jennifer Aniston the hottest woman of all time (eat your heart out, Angelina Jolie). Personally? I’m so happy that Jessica Biel was nowhere to be found on this list. Sorry fellas, but I just don’t get that one.

– Posters for The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man surfaced this weekend. July 2012 can’t come soon enough.

Weekend Wrap

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend, especially those of you who were lucky enough to make it to Comic Con!  Some of my favorite things to come out of San Diego this weekend?  True Blood has really found its footing again this season, and I was happy to see that the panel led to the release of new footage from upcoming episodes (follow the link for the clip).  I also was really looking forward to the Spider-man panel, and it did not disappoint (even the villain actually got into some real-life trouble!).  Check out this video of Andrew Garfield surprising guests and pouring his heart out over the masked web-slinger.

This weekend also brought the unfortunate news of Amy Winehouse’s death.  The singer, who was 27, had been defined heavily in the media by her substance abuse problems and died of an apparent drug overdose.

New Spider-man Trailer Finally Out!

I caught the link to the bootleg trailer from a friend just before it was taken down yesterday, but now the real deal has finally hit the web (no pun intended)!  Check out the trailer below for The Amazing Spider-Man with the nerd-licious Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.  The film looks like it is taking the darker plot-line route a la Nolan’s Batman franchise, so I’m sure it’s going to be incredible.  2012 continues to look like it will be the best year ever for comic book geeks!  I can’t wait!
